Health from microbes in living soil

Living soil is the foundation of human health. Beneficial microbes unlock minerals for plants. When we eat fresh, nutrient-dense food grown in that soil, those nutrients and microbes help strengthen our own gut microbiome.

We Are Living Longer — But Not Healthier

Modern advances in medicine and hygiene have extended our lifespans, but many people spend these extra years coping with chronic disease and declining quality of life. This widening gap between how long we live (lifespan) and how long we stay healthy (healthspan) is a growing concern globally.
A key driver of this problem is the modern food system, dominated by highly processed, energy-dense foods that lack the essential nutrients, minerals, and beneficial microbes our bodies need. While these foods are cheap and abundant, they contribute to a global epidemic of obesity, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.

What Healthy Communities Do Differently

So-called “blue zones” — communities where people live long, healthy lives — share common traits:

  • Fresh, diverse, minimally processed food
  • Food grown locally
  • Soil health protected through recycling organic matter

Grow Nutrient-Dense Food That Restores Healthspan

In nature, worms and soil organisms recycle organic matter. Microbes and fungi release minerals for plants. Plants pass those nutrients — and microbial signals — to animals. For millions of years, this biological cycle regulated appetite, metabolism, and vitality. Modern industrial food systems disrupted that balance. Much of the microbial diversity that once signalled satiety and nutrient sufficiency has been stripped from our food.
